Ten Reasons to Keep Living

Ten reasons.jpg

1. I want to witness and support Amy as she grows into her new career as a therapist & traumatologist. I want to be with her until the lights go out and the stars light up. Plus, I want to show her the world.... she's never been to Europe or Greece or Peru!

2. There are beautiful young people that desperately need a supportive, loving presence to hold space for their beauty and purpose to emerge. We have adopted Aspen into our lives and I am committed to mothering her for the rest of my life.

3. I've only explored half the countries on earth-- there are so many amazing faces to see, stories to hear, landscapes to traverse, cultures to experience.

4. I want to become the most loving, badass, authentic, true-blue woman I can be for as long as I am breathing -- which will take decades to master!

5. I have paintings, books, sculptures, dances and who knows... maybe a TED talk inside of me-- all being formed in the crucible of grief and love and the ache of being human.

6. I want to thank each one of you face to face for being here on this journey with me-- that could take a few years at least in the current environment. I have received so much love and support over the past four months --- I want to give back and let love ripple out.

7. We need to be talking about grief-- and who better to do this work than those of us that are in the midst of it?

8. I love words: sung, spoken, written, painted across the sky-- I want to continue to nourish myself with the genius of poets while also honoring and giving voice to what's inside of me.

9. Someday the restrictions on gathering and travel will lift and I will be able to visit my beloveds in Australia, Europe, Africa, Latin America-- some of whom I know, and some I just haven't met yet.

10. I want to eat in a restaurant, go to a ceremony, walk the camino, attend a retreat, paint with other creatives-- I miss human interaction, ingenuity, connection & hugs.

What about you??
